Get Your Truffle On: Truffle Restaurant Roundup!
28 May 2014, by Truffle Restaurants inChefs see truffles the way we see diamonds – it’s beyond precious, that even the lightest shaving is guaranteed to bring a whole dish to life. Delightful and hard to resist, I know, but it’s time to get to know where you can have some of the best truffle dishes from different stretches of the world!
New York: B&B
I’m pretty sure you want your first truffle burger experience to be out of this world, and so I say: head over to B&B. It’s not just any truffle burger, though; it’s white truffle burger. Think juicy patty topped with creamy Robiola cheese, a generous slathering of truffle aioli, and a good shaving of white truffles. Now if these are not enough to make your drool and swoon, this restaurant offers steak tartare with shaved white truffles, too!
Italy: Castello di Sinio
To eat in a castle is one thing but to eat white truffle-featuring dishes is another! Tucked right smack in the middle of one of the leading wine and gastronomic spots in the world is Castello di Sinio. Apart from being nestled in the beautiful Le Langhe in Piedmont, this luxury country hotel finds itself among much celebrated cuisine, fine wine production, and the Alba white truffle hills! It’s no wonder they dish up some of the most delectable white truffle specials — all served with 5 grams of shaved white Alba truffles. Such dishes include Open Ravioli with Truffle Ragu, Salt Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Piemontese Sirloin Steak with Truffle Sauce, and White Truffle Souffle.
France: Chez Bruno
Food in Chez Bruno is Truffle Heaven in every dish, and here’s why: while it prides itself on impressive arrangement and brilliant beyond brilliant service, what makes this restaurant so special is its knack for cooking up divinely delicious dishes with emphasis on local fresh products. And you know what keeps guests coming back for more? Yup, you guessed it: Chez Bruno’s truffles! What started out as a “main product” slowly developed into whole menus. He uses over 7000 kg of different truffle species per year, and, in saying that, there’s a chance that any man who visits this restaurant will consume more truffles during this one dinner than he ever has, or will.
Singapore: Truffle Gourmet
Chef Takahashi Okuno must have heard everyone’s cry for all things truffle; hence, the birth of Truffle Gourmet in Singapore. It’s absolutely the place to go, especially if you’re looking for a restaurant that offers truffle-laced creations beyond the truffle season! Drop by for the most divine nibbles of pecorino with black truffle cream and truffle caviar with bread. If you want to get to truffle heaven fast, though, then your best bet is to try their viteollo tonnato, uovo fritto, and their glorious Italian chocolate cake with truffled whipped cream to top it all off!
Hong Kong: Nicholini’s
Food cooked from the heart is what you’re guaranteed to have at Nicholini’s. Having grown up preparing gnocchi at home with his father, Chef Alex Bignotti has perfected what seems to be his favorite dish off his white truffle menu, the stuffed potato gnocchi –the fluffy texture of which makes a perfect balance to the truffle’s aroma! And while you’re there, you might as well treat yourself to their tagliatelle with white truffle and mascarpone agnolotti with black winter truffle and sage butter.
See there’s no such thing as too much of a good thing and, on that note, truffle dishes all over the world perpetually beckon. Have you tried any truffle restaurant lately? Share your experience by leaving a comment down below!
